Selam! I am a Ph.D. student in Math dpertment here at MSU. I am also a teaching assistant and I like teaching! I graduated from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. I spent several years in Ankara before I came to the US five years ago. I enjoy spending time with new people and experiencing different cultures. This is why I am glad to be involved in the Turkish Student Association.

In Turkey, I was an English Teacher who always sought ways to use technology in his courses, so that’s what brings me here to Ed. Tech. program. Welcome to Turkish Student Association at MSU. I am Dorukcan Koca, a senior student at MSU, majoring in the School of Hospitality Business. I am the Undergrad Liaison Chair of Turkish Student Association. My aim is to gather all of the turkish students and everyone else who is interested in Turkish Culture in one group. asliAslı Aslan Yılmaz, Secretary

Merhaba! I am a post-doctorate at the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife here at MSU. I have a doctorate degree in marine microbiology, I have participated in many biodiversity and water pollution studies back in Turkey and now I am here to study the pollution in Great Lakes; world’s one fifth freshwater reservoir. I am also a CMAS instructor diver and a part of OCEANOS scientific diving team, the first underwater biodiversity research group of Turkey. Research at MSU was one of my goals and I am glad that I have had the chance to have this great experience. I would like to continue my activities in the environmental issues here at MSU and as a member of TSA, I believe that we can achieve many projects to have a “better green”. Please feel free to contact with us and share your ideas. Go Green!


Dilek Engin is a DMA student in Collage of Music at Michigan State University. She completed a Middle High School Equivalent and Bachelors Degree in 07/07/2003 at Istanbul state Conservatory.

As an active orchestra musician, she performed with the Cemal Resit Rey Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Isik University in Turkey from 1998 to 2003 and many others. During the years of 2001 and 2002 summers she joined the L’Orchestre de la Mediterranée ”Medditerranean Youth Symphony Orchestra” in Aix-En-Provence and performed through many festivals in Marseille, Morocco, Spain and Italy. She performed (such as Ascoli-Piceno Festival, the 3rd International String and Chamber Music, “The Committee” a string quartet which was sponsored by Yapi Kredi Bank’s Culture Organization). She  won first price of the Bell and Jackson competition in 2006. She was a recipient of the Sue Soto Scholarship for Strings from Marshall University. She performed with Huntington Symphony Orchestra,West Virginia Symphony , Ohio Valley Symphony and South Ohio Light Opera. As a chamber music, she performed with Portsmouth Chamber Orchestra in 2009. In 2009, she performance with Ad Libitum Chamber group which is Yuri Gandelsman created and plays in Jackson Symphony Orchestra.

Currently, she is studying with Mr. Yuri Gandelsman at Michigan State University.

Hello! I am Katherine Suna Zerwas, a freshman at MSU, and I am majoring in Political Science with a double minor in Russian and German. I attended a TSA event on my first day at MSU.
